ABOUT

Singer/guitarist/composer Timothy Hill weaves a natural purity of voice with threads of otherworldly abstract sound, blending seamlessly into a style that transcends genre. Hill’s musical explorations span the genres of folk, jazz, world music, contemporary classical and improvisation. He appears on numerous recordings with David Hykes and the Harmonic Choir, including the seminal Hearing Solar Winds. The New York Times called Hill “A virtuoso of the Tibetan chanting technique.” He also appears on Baird Hersey and Prana’s recording Chiaroscuro with Nexus Percussion, on Brooklyn Raga Massive’s performance of Terry Riley’s In C, and on unique collaborations with composer-accordionist Pauline Oliveros, clarinetist-author David Rothenberg and singer-violinist Iva Bittová. Recent recordings include The Sa of Sa with bansuri flautists Steve Gorn and Eric Fraser, Inside Voice/Outside Voice with bassist Michael Bisio.
